ArtMix | Crocker Con

The 10th Annual CrockerCon is to be held
Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 6-9pm

Starting in 2013, the Crocker Art Museum has presented a showcase of regional comic book creatives along with a celebration of the popular arts at the Museum.

As the co-founder and co-coordinator, I view the goal of this collaborative event with the Crocker Art Museum as twofold:

+Spur a better appreciation of both the museum's collection of artwork from around the world and periods by bridging it to the fans of the popular arts and medium of comic books.

+Promote the artistic and cultural value of the popular arts, particularly comics, to long-time patrons of the museum and focusing on regional contributions to the medium of comic books.

All this amid a lively and celebratory evening featuring live music, live performances, interactive exhibits and artwork, live podcasts, casual drinks, board games, spotlighting many local comic book shops, and so much more!

If you'd like to participate in the next CrockerCon, please submit the interest form below.
Interest does not guarantee participation.

Hosted at the Crocker Art Museum

Fun fact! The Crocker Art Museum is oldest American art museum west of the Mississippi!

The Crocker Tron is the CrockerCon mascot. Each year the Crocker Art Museum asks a different artist in our Sacramento comics community to “transform” the Crocker Art Museum into a robotic bastion seeking to protect and preserve the arts.

The CrockerTron tradition started with Sean Sutter in 2015 and has since been reimagined by Michael Calero in 2016, Nate Flamm in 2017, Melissa Pagluica in 2018, Dan Bethel in 2019, Robert Love for 2020, Nooligan for 2022, and Dom Fambro for 2023.
